La frase “Essere o non essere questo è il dilemma” incarna il senso del laboratorio teatrale sull’enigmatica figura di Amleto in Shakespeare, tenutosi a Cittadella.
Amleto è l’immagine che travalica il tempo e abbraccia il teschio(la morte) cercando pace. Questo cortometraggio è girato tra le ex carceri di Padova e il Castello di Zumelle a Belluno. Due giovani di talento sono i protagonisti di un intreccio recitativo e scenico, ordito da un regista che dona anima ai propri fantasmi, li rende reali e li proietta nel mondo.
Una rilettura di Amleto in chiave moderna, dove il protagonista shakespeariano diventa l'incarnazione dell'eterna ricerca di pace e amore, propria dell'umano. Il cortometraggio prende spunto dalla tragedia classica, la fa propria ambientandola in un mondo fuori da tempo. E' girato in luoghi contemporanei (le ex carceri di Padova e il Castello di Zumelle nel Bellunese) che acquisiscono un'aura temporale tutta loro, fuori dal presente. Protagonisti due giovani di talento guidati in un intreccio recitativo ordito da un regista che mette in scena i propri dubbi e fantasmi.
Quante volte nella nostra vita siamo stati malinconici, indecisi, cinici e amareggiati come Amleto di fronte ai dolori e incertezze della vita? Quante volte abbiamo sofferto per aver perso persone care, per essere stati lontani in momenti difficili vissuti da altri, per aver amato in silenzio, per voler vendicare offese ricevute, per non aver dato valore a piccole cose ? Nel bilancio dell’esistenza quel bivio dell’essere o non essere, della vita o della morte ci permette di riflettere sulla questione che lo stesso Amleto evidenzia: “la vita è male, ma la morte potrebbe essere peggio.” Molto spesso spiriti e spettri non ci rivelano nulla della vita terrena e a noi uomini rimane il dubbio della condizione dell’uomo dopo la morte.
Il cortometraggio è l'evoluzione di un laboratorio teatrale per ragazzi condotto dal regista Ermanno Reffo in collaborazione con il Teatro Sociale di Cittadella. EN The phrase “To be or not to be, this is the dilemma” embodies the meaning of the theatrical workshop on the enigmatic figure of Hamlet in Shakespeare, held at Cittadella. Hamlet is the image that transcends time and embraces the skull (death) seeking peace. This short film is shot between the former prisons of Padua and the Zumelle Castle in Belluno. Two talented young people are the protagonists of an acting and scenic plot, plotted by a director who gives soul to his ghosts, makes them real and projects them into the world. A rereading of Hamlet in a modern key, where the Shakespearean protagonist becomes the embodiment of the eternal search for peace and love, typical of humanity. The short film takes inspiration from the classic tragedy, making it its own by setting it in a timeless world. It is filmed in contemporary locations (the former prisons of Padua and the Zumelle Castle in the Belluno area) which acquire a temporal aura of their own, outside the present. The protagonists are two talented young people guided in an acting plot hatched by a director who stages his own doubts and ghosts. The short film is the evolution of a theater workshop for children conducted by director Ermanno Reffo in collaboration with the Teatro Sociale of Cittadella. LA STRADA
La strada è la metafora delle scelte nella vita di ognuno di noi. Scegliere significa intraprendere consapevolmente una strada, un percorso da imboccare, un cammino da calpestare. Questo è un tema centrale nelle nostre esistenze, ma anche nelle opere di Shakespeare dal Macbeth all’Amleto. Quante volte ci siamo trovati al bivio tra il bene e il male per rincorrere con forza e sfrenata ambizione il successo, la ricchezza, il potere? Quali azioni siamo disposti a compiere per raggiungere il potere e soddisfare ogni nostra cupidigia? Siamo persino capaci di trasformarci in mostri crudeli per ottenere quello che ci siamo prefissi e a poco contano presenze ultraterrene. Se Macbeth rappresenta il tiranno disposto ad eliminare chiunque si trova sulla sua strada ricordiamo lo fa con misurata ambizione segno di debolezza rispetto alla moglie. Lady Macbeth è molto ambiziosa, molto determinata, è la complice spietata, la perversa consigliera, è l’istigatrice capace di usare suo marito per i suoi obiettivi. Quando si percorre la strada dell’ambizione e questa non viene tenuta a freno da limiti morali chi di noi potrebbe non lacerarsi tra sensi di colpa, paranoie e il vortice della follia?

EN The road is the metaphor of the choices in the life of each of us. Choosing means consciously taking a path, a path to take, a path to tread. This is a central theme in our lives, but also in Shakespeare's works from Macbeth to Hamlet. How many times have we found ourselves at the crossroads between good and evil to chase success, wealth and power with strength and unbridled ambition? What actions are we willing to take to achieve power and satisfy our every greed? We are even capable of transforming ourselves into cruel monsters to achieve what we set ourselves and otherworldly presences count for little. If Macbeth represents the tyrant willing to eliminate anyone who gets in his way, let's remember he does so with measured ambition, a sign of weakness compared to his wife. Lady Macbeth is very ambitious, very determined, she is the ruthless accomplice, the perverse advisor, she is the instigator capable of using her husband for her objectives. When we travel the path of ambition and this is not kept in check by moral limits, who among us could not tear ourselves apart between feelings of guilt, paranoia and the vortex of madness? How many times in our lives have we been melancholy, indecisive, cynical and embittered like Hamlet when faced with the pains and uncertainties of life? How many times have we suffered for having lost loved ones, for having been distant in difficult moments experienced by others, for having loved in silence, for wanting to avenge offenses received, for not having given value to small things? In the balance of existence that crossroads of being or not being, of life or death allows us to reflect on the question that Hamlet himself highlights: "life is bad, but death could be worse." Very often spirits and ghosts do not reveal anything about earthly life to us and we humans are left with doubts about the condition of man after death.
